Welcome to Here And Thereness. I’m Sumita Bhattacharyya and I’m starting anew at the age of fifty, living proof of the fact that it’s never too late to seize the day.

I live and love to travel. After twenty three years of teaching and administration, I suffered an aneurysm which forced me to sit back and reflect on what I really wanted to do with my life. I realized I wanted to be a travel blogger.So this blog is an attempt to bring together accounts of my travels all over India with photographs, anecdotes and the little details I hope will be helpful to all future explorers. How to travel on a shoestring budget, what to do when you get there and why travel at all; these are the questions I seek to answer. 

My family and I, perpetually suffering from wanderlust , have been taking ourselves off to little-known places for decades. I’ve racked up all sorts of tips and tricks and advice, all kinds of strategies and anecdotes that I’d like to finally share with the world. As St Augustine said, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page“. This is my story, my book. Lets go on this journey together!
